Materials
Microporous Film
Microporous film is a vapor permeable PE (polyethylene) membrane that resists liquid transmission.
To increase durability, the film is laminated in at least one non-woven layer (spunbond). Microporous
film laminates provide durability and comfort.
PE (Polyethylene)
Polyethylene or polyethene is a thermoplastic commodity heavily used in consumer products
(over 60 million tons are produced worldwide every year). Its name originates from the monomer
ethene used to create the polymer.
It is a light, strong, water resistant and flexible product, even at low temperatures.
Spunbond
Spunbond is a non-woven material made up of long, continuous polypropylene fibers.
The fibers are stretched upon extrusion, which results in strong MD (machine direction)
and CD (transverse direction).
The material resists abrasion, while maintaining a soft and comfortable feel.

What are the advantages of breathable film?
Breathable film provides both comfort and protection. The breathable construction inhibits
fluid penetration while allowing moisture and heat to escape. The film is laminated with
non-woven material to produce a very durable, cloth-like product.
